Kiwanis-family members and non-members who send the cost equivalent of just one meal help fund numerous programs that directly benefit children. The SKIP-A-MEAL program benefits the Kiwanis Children’s Fund, sponsored by your Kiwanis International Foundation.

Individual or club participation is crucial to continue serving the children of the world. Join the Kiwanis family by skipping just one meal during the last week in April. Your support will help fund the growing number of grants provided through the Kiwanis Children's Fund.

How you can help

First of all, make SKIP-A-MEAL a fun-filled event. Think outside the box when devising your program. For example, invite a local dietician to discuss healthy eating habits, have a club pitch-in and vote for the best dish, or use SKIP-A-MEAL as a way to kick-off a weight-loss program.

  • Begin publicizing the event before the designated SKIP-A-MEAL week. Click here to download a handy brochure about the program.
  • Inform your lieutenant governor of your club's plans.
  • Schedule an appropriate speaker who can inform your club members about SKIP-A-MEAL at least one month prior to the event.
  • Send e-mail reminders to your members two days before your club meeting. Call those who do not have e-mail.
  • Skip the meal at your weekly club meeting and contribute the cost of that meal, or bring your meal and contribute what you normally would spend.
  • Report your success to your lieutenant governor and/or your Foundation District Chairman.
  • Send your contribution to the Kiwanis International office by using the guide below.

Be part of the team

Every Kiwanis-family member, and non-Kiwanian, is able to participate in SKIP-A-MEAL.

K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Clubs, Circle K Clubs, Aktion Clubs, Kiwanis Junior Clubs, and Kiwanis clubs are eligible!

Places of worship, schools, businesses, other service and civic groups, government offices, and more can help make a difference to children worldwide through their contributions.
